I recently photographed the Heckman extended family, and it was such a fun session from start to finish. With a group made up mostly of adults, little Auggie definitely became the center of attention. Between his huge grin and nonstop personality, he kept everyone laughing. We were able to capture a great mix of the whole group along with plenty of individual family groupings.

I always encourage extended family sessions to include both posed portraits and candid moments, and this session had a really nice balance of both. Some of my favorite images were the in-between moments where everyone was interacting naturally and enjoying time together. Those genuine expressions and connections are what make extended family photos feel meaningful years later.
