Baby Brooks's Wide Awake Newborn Photo Session

After photographing big sister Sadie as a newborn a few years ago, I was so excited to meet her new baby brother Brooks!  He arrived ready to party and stayed awake for the majority of the session.

Photographing a newborn who is wide awake can be a challenge but fortunately Brooks was very content and he made great eye contact for a newborn.  I love when I'm able to get those bright-eyed expressions and funny faces, aka "mugshots"!  

As with any of my newborn sessions, I create a safe and comfortable environment to keep baby calm and content.  I have the room heated to 80 degrees, provide soft blankets and props, and run a white noise machine.  We take breaks whenever needed for feeding and diaper changes to keep baby happy and comfortable.  

Even though working with an awake newborn can be a challenge, I love the end result!  Baby Brooks had so much personality and character, even at such a young age.
