So last month’s blog circle post was our family “selfie” celebrating 10 years of marriage. My husband and I took a belated anniversary trip to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL a couple of weeks ago. The kids stayed with the grandparents–which was enjoyed by all! I opted not to take my big girl camera with me on this trip since it was just about us having fun and riding rides. Instead, I used my iPhone for all of these. I’m still learning how to get the most out of my camera phone, but it was so freeing not to have to lug around the fancy camera for a change!
And, saving the best for last…THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER!
We were able to spend a day at the Harry Potter themed Islands of Adventure park last year and it was an amazing experience! Walking in, it really feels like you’re in Hogsmeade village. This summer, they opened a new part of the park that is based on Diagon Alley. There’s even a Hogwarts Express that you can ride between the two parks. Seeing it pull into the station seriously gave me goosebumps! When we got off of the Express, we were on Platform 9 3/4 and exited onto a London street. From there, we walked through a hidden entrance to arrive in Diagon Alley. So cool! I can’t wait to take the kids there when they’re old enough to appreciate it.
